Common questions

Do coins expire? ▾
Coins are spent when you unlock a chapter or episode - once used, the unlock is permanent and yours to revisit anytime. Unused coins in your wallet remain available until you spend them. We don't impose arbitrary expiry dates on unspent coins.
Can I use coins for both reading and listening? ▾
Yes. A single coin wallet works across novels, audiobooks and shows. 2 coins unlock 1 novel chapter, 4 coins unlock 1 audiobook episode, and 6 coins unlock 1 show episode. 1 coin = ₹0.50.
How do I get Premium status or join the Rixx Revenue Program (RRP)? ▾
Premium status is granted automatically to approved entries in Plotrixx contests or promotional campaigns, and can otherwise be requested from the Content team. RRP has no application form: a new novel qualifies automatically once it has 500+ views in a month, 15+ followers on your profile and 30,000+ words. These criteria may be adjusted as the platform grows.
How is RRP per-word pay calculated? ▾
It depends on your Streak Status. Days 1-7 of an active publishing streak: ₹0.03 per word. Days 8-10 of the same unbroken streak (Streak Bonus): ₹0.05 per word. First publish right after a missed day: ₹0.02 per word. A day with no chapter published earns ₹0. Earnings show on your dashboard and wallet in real time.
Is RRP payment guaranteed if my story gets few views? ▾
Payment is guaranteed as long as each episode gets at least 10 views. If a novel stalls, we wait 15 days for progress and send a notice before freezing it. A freeze only pauses new chapter publishing (so you don't publish without earning) and lifts as soon as the novel picks up again.
Can I enrol a story already published elsewhere, or publish my RRP novel on other platforms? ▾
RRP is for new stories only; previously published stories aren't eligible, to avoid copyright conflicts. RRP novels carry exclusive conversion rights with Plotrixx (audiobooks, video shows, translations and more, each with a guaranteed revenue share for you). You may publish on a platform that doesn't take away the novel's rights, but you must inform the Plotrixx content team and get formal permission first. If another platform requires an exclusive contract, it can't be allowed.
How do I receive my earnings as a writer or voice artist? ▾
You can request payout monthly. A 3% payment gateway fee applies. A minimum threshold is Rupees 200. For RRP novels, withdrawal requests are accepted between the 16th and the 5th of the following month, processed between the 6th and 15th, with UPI cleared on the 10th and NEFT by the 15th.
What audio formats do voice artists need to upload? ▾
We accept MP3 (128kbps minimum, 320kbps recommended) and WAV files. Episodes are re-encoded for streaming. Premium Audiobook status gets priority processing and quality certification.
Is there a revenue share percentage I should know about? ▾
On Normal and Premium novels/audiobooks, Plotrixx takes 40% of coin unlock revenue and you keep 60% (voice artists keep 60% on solo uploads). Novels enrolled in the Rixx Revenue Program (RRP) are paid per word instead (₹0.03, ₹0.05 or ₹0.02 depending on your streak) plus a guaranteed revenue share on conversions such as audiobooks, shows and translations - the 60% coin-unlock share does not apply to an RRP novel. A 3% payment gateway fee is deducted from payouts. These rates are locked in for founding creators.
Does the free plan show ads? ▾
Currently no, Plotrixx is ad-free for all users during our pre-launch and early launch period. If this changes, we'll give all users at least 30 days notice.
